Activity Goal
The goal of this CME/CE activity is to review the major chemotherapeutic regimens used to treat chronic lymphoid leukemia and acute lymphoid leukemia and provide rationales for the treatment regimens used for particular patient types and disease phases.
|
Target Audience
This activity is designed for hematologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, family practice/primary care physicians, and other clinicians involved in the management, treatment, and care of patients with leukemia.

Learning Objectives

Determine the prognostic factors that predict risk of progression in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) to better choose optimal treatments for those patients. |

Describe the initial treatment regimens for patients with CLL and ALL and the expected response rates to each regimen to optimize patient outcomes. |

Assess methods used to determine response to therapy in patients with CLL and ALL to optimize treatment regimens that enhance patient outcomes. |

Describe treatment options for consolidation and maintenance of remission in patients with ALL to prolong patient survival and optimize their quality of life. |
